Cassiah has been a successful performer/dancer since the age of 2, competing internationally in Beauty Pageants and Talent Shows across the country. She has won such titles as Little Miss Canada, Miss Cover Girl, Miss Shinning Star, and International Royalty. At the age of 13, Cassiah underwent a teaching apprenticeship training program and began teaching dance. She has excelled as a competitive dancer, choreographer and teacher, with her strengths highlighted in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Musical Theatre and Hip-Hop. Cassiah has also worked with National and Provincial Gymnasts choreographing floor routines, beam routines, and creating poise in their overall presentations. She is a member of the Professional Adjudicators Alliance, and has started adjudicating dance and talent competitions across Canada.
Cassiah has obtained her BA Honors in Drama & Communications, Media and Film, as well as her Bachelor of Education teaching diploma. Cassiah has graduated with a gold seal from the ADAPT syllabus teachers training program, where she completed an extensive 3 years of training, under the direction of Brian and Faye Foley in the styles of Tap and Jazz. She also has a very extensive Acro background and has been named a Master Instructor/ Examiner for the Acrobatique AcroDance Syllabus.
Avery started dancing and taking classes at the age of 2. She was a member of Pure Academy’s Triple Threat Team/ Program (2009, 2010) which included taking drama, vocal and musical theatre classes. Performed in stage productions of High School Musical 2 , Godspell, and Willy Wonka. Over the years, she has taken numerous classes in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Heels and Partnering. She has danced competitively for PURE Pak Award-winning teen and Senior teams. Also competing independently two duets winning Judge’s Choice awards, special awards and top overall jazz scores. She has been a Teacher’s Assistant, assisting in a variety of classes including competitive team, Primary competitive team, Boy’s technique, HipHop and vocal. In 2013, she was honored to receive her studio’s Teacher Assistant of the Year award. While in Highschool (UCC), she took dance curriculum courses in gr 10, 11, and 12 and was also a member of the UCC Lancer Cheerleading Team and Lancer Link leadership. Avery has been employed as a dance instructor and choreographer for several years. Along with choreographing competitive team and select solo and duet dances, she has also choreographed for UCC cheer and UCC musical. Avery looks forward to furthering her teaching experience. She is thrilled to join the staff of Cassiah’s Dance Company and looks forward to sharing the love of dance while helping each student grow as a dancer and a person.
Courtney began her journey into the dance world studying the BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) syllabus in 1999. She thereafter completed examinations up to Premier Award level in Jazz; Gold level in Freestyle/Hip Hop; Grade V and British Award in Tap; and Grade II and British Award level in Ballet – receiving Honours seven times! Courtney was also nominated to attend the BATD Junior Stage/Tap Scholarships in 2005 and the Senior Stage/Tap Scholarships in 2009. In 2005, Courtney was selected to showcase her own Hip Hop solo choreography at the Be Discovered “You Can Dance” Talent Showcase in Chatham, ON.
Since 2006, Courtney has also had the privilege to expand her dance knowledge by attending sessions and workshops in the styles of Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary and Hip Hop with instructors such as tWitch, Joshua Allen, Stacey Tookey, The Tap Dogs, Lauren Froderman, Alex Crenian, Miles Faber, Stephanie Rutherford and more. In addition, Courtney attended 1st Year ADAPT Teacher’s Training in Junior Level Tap and Jazz, as well as the Acrobatique Certification Program in 2014 and will be receiving Zumba Certification in August 2017.
Courtney has also had the privilege to both choreograph and perform at the competitive level receiving numerous awards such as Judges’ Choice, 1st Place Overall Large Groups/Lines, 1st Place Overall Senior Duets/Trios and Teacher Choreography Award! In 2013 and 2014, respectively, Courtney received a scholarship to Step Up Dance Camp for Triple Diamond Performance “Invaders” and 1st Place Overall Musical Theatre Award for Song & Dance Duet “It’s A Fine Life”.
While pursuing her love for dance, Courtney has also been pursuing her love for language by spending time each month volunteering to help people learn about the Bible in Mandarin Chinese.
Courtney certainly believes that “through dance, children learn valuable life lessons and acquire life skills which will help them succeed in any and all areas of life. No matter where life takes you after graduation, dance is a practical, creative, healthy, and beautiful assistant to the challenges of growing up.”
Sarah Coulter is a trained dancer and experienced teacher. She has been trained primarily in Hip Hop, but has been educated in many dance forms such as ballet, jazz, lyrical and break dancing.
Sarah has been dancing for over 10 years both recreationally and competitively. She is currently working on her undergrad degree in London and will be starting teachers college next year. While in school Sarah continues to educate her self in dance by taking a number of workshops and classes as well as teaching at the YMCA.
Introduced to dance while at a small studio in Blenheim, Sarah learned motivation, determination and found a love of dance through her years of competition and teaching. She expanded her dance knowledge by attending workshops like Nuvo, and the Pulse and Dance Attack, taking classes from instructors such as Twitch, Miles Faber, Alex Crenian, Joshua Allen, Mia Michaels and Travis Wall.
Sarah wishes only to continue teaching and sharing her love for expression through dance as she dances with Cassiah’s Dance Company.
Hannah discovered her love for dance at the young age of 3. She trained primarily in Ballet, and soon began learning more styles including Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and Contemporary. She has extended her dance training by attending workshops with instructors such as Miles Faber, Alex Crenian, Bree Wesylenko, and Hayley Paone. Along with dance training, Hannah learned about performance through drama classes.
In her years dancing competitively, Hannah was honoured to receive several awards for her performances in solos, duets, and groups. Among these she was chosen to receive a signature award for demonstrating her passion for dance in her solo and duet performances, and a scholarship for her Pointe choreography. Hannah was also recognized for showing teamwork and being a leader as a senior student on the competitive team.
Hannah began her teaching career at the age of 16 as an assistant instructor at the studio, and a dance instructor for a local daycare program. While attending college in Kitchener, she taught Ballet and Jazz classes. Hannah enjoys working with enthusiastic dancers of all ages and abilities. She is looking forward to joining Cassiah’s Dance Company and helping each student as they grow and learn.

Rachel is 15 years old in tenth grade at Blenheim District High School, and dances on Cassiah’s Competitive Dance Team at the Chatham location. She has been dancing for a total of 13 years, 8 being competitive and 5 being recreational.
Rachel has had the privlidge to dance in two musicals, “Night of a thousand stars” and “West Side Story” both choreographed by Cassiah! She has won many overall soloist awards at competitions and countless special awards. Rachel is a dedicated dancer, who loves sharing her knowledge of dance and shines when she is performing on stage.
Rachel can be found at the studio or playing sports at school. Her passion for dance is outstanding, and she is thankful that Cassiah gives her the opportunity to help assist classes
Angela began her journey into the world of gymnastics at the age of 7 here in Leamington Ontario, where she competed both recreationally and competitively. She quickly discovered a passion for the sport of gymnastics, tumbling, and dance that has lasted well into her adult years.
Angela has been involved with coaching Gymnastics since 2007, working alongside athletes from the age of 18 months (Parent and Tot classes) all the way up to 18 years (High school aged athletes), and about every age in between. During these years, Angela has coached recreational classes, high-school gymnastics teams to OFSAA Gold, and pre-provincial and provincial-level competitors to many successful competition finishes. She has supported many gymnasts to perform and compete at various showcases, demonstrations, and competitions all across Ontario. Angela holds her Level 2 Qualification from the NCCP, National Coach Certification Program, both in Multi-Sports and specifically in Gymnastics and Trampoline. She has also successfully completed several coaching workshops and courses including Making Ethical Decisions, Designing a Basic Sport Program, and completing both the Technical and Practical components of the NCCP Level 2 Gymnastics Course.
Angela focuses on teaching gymnastics and tumbling skills in a fun and progressive way. She believes in allowing her students to discover their talents and capabilities by encouraging a strong work ethic and effort while having fun during classes. Angela graduated with honours from the University of Windsor with her Bachelor of Arts in English: Language and Literature, and her Bachelor of Education in 2009. Since 2009, Angela has worked for the WECDSB, most recently as a Kindergarten teacher here in Leamington. Angela strives to create a fun, energetic, and challenging learning environment for the learners across all walks of her career: students, gymnasts, and dancers alike.
