General Recital Information

RECITAL INFORMATION FOR OUR 2023 (SEASON 8)

TICKET SALES:

Dance Recital tickets go on sale MAY 17th at 10:00am. Tickets are being sold through a third party ticketing agency ONLY.

TICKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AT OUR STUDIO OR OFFICE

VIP TICKETS (first 3 rows) $35.00 +hst

GENERAL ADMISSION $25.00 +hst

Children under 2 (lap child) free

Tickets at the door will be $30.00 +hst

Please remember that most dancers are only in ONE RECITAL. Please check our RECITAL PLACEMENT DOC to see which recital your dancer is in and to ensure you are purchasing tickets to the correct performance.

There is no limit to the number of tickets you are able to purchase, they are sold on a first come first serve basis. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase. NO HOLDS will be available.

T-SHIRTS:

Recital T-Shirts are available for pre-order through our office. T-shirts will have the names of the full cast of dancers printed on the back, and the recital poster logo on the front.

Dancers will be required to wear this shirt for stage rehearsal, and the finale at the recital.

(If you do not wish to purchase a recital shirt, dancers will need to wear a plain white shirt for stage rehearsal, and the finale.)

RECITAL VIDEO:

Pictures and videos will be permitted at the recital this year (without the use of flash).

COSTUMES:

Costumes for our recitals are rented for a fee of $40.00 per class/ per child.

The costume fees will be applied to your May account.

Please note - Costumes will NOT be taken home at any time and will be ready in the dressing room for the dancers when they arrive at the recital.

You will be able to see your dancers' recital placement by clicking the link below. This PDF will determine which performance (Matinee or Evening) your dancer will be performing in.

REHEARSALS:

Stage rehearsal is a time for each dancer to rehearse their dance on the stage. We will be walking the dancers through the backstage area, going over spots on the stage, and rehearsing our finale. Each rehearsal is 15 minutes unless otherwise noted.

Dancers are required to be at the stage rehearsal for their specific dance time as well as ONE of the finale rehearsals. Please pick a time which works best for you.

Finale Rehearsal Times:

Monday May 29th

5:00pm - 5:15pm

6:15pm - 6:30pm

Tuesday May 30th

5:00pm - 5:15pm

6:15pm - 6:30pm

Wednesday May 31st

5:00pm - 5:15pm

6:15pm - 6:30pm

Thursday June 1st

5:00pm - 5:15pm

6:45pm - 7:00pm

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A STAGE REHEARSAL NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL. DANCERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR BLACK PANTS AND THEIR RECITAL SHIRT (OR A PLAIN WHITE SHIRT).

Stage Rehearsal is taking place at:

UMEI HIGH SCHOOL

Leamington, ON

Please arrive at least 20 minutes early for this rehearsal, in proper attire.

Parents are invited to sit and watch the stage rehearsal, and are more than welcomed to take pictures and videos. Please do not allow your dancer or siblings to run around the auditorium, as this can be VERY distracting for the dancers on stage.

This rehearsal is a chance for your dancer to practice on the stage, and learn their way around the backstage area.

HAIR & MAKE-UP:

A handout will be sent home closer to the recital with details regarding your dancers' hair and make-up requirements for each dance.

DANCE SHOES:

Please check the Dress Code listed on our website, and in the lobby regarding shoes. All dancers MUST have the proper shoes and colour. If you do not already have the proper shoes it would be advisable to purchase them soon so the dancer will have adequate time to break his/her shoes in.

Please LABEL ALL SHOES with the dancers’ name so that shoes do not get lost.

ATTENDANCE:

We have now started working on the choreography for all recital dances. It is mandatory for dancers to attend class. Videotaping of your dancer in class is only permitted if permission is arranged beforehand with the teacher. This will help the dancer with practicing their dance at home.
